We have had a wonderful response to Look Good...Feel Better and here are some of the comments we have received.

  Doctors' Comments:
Dr Daniel Vorobiof finds that the workshops uplift both the morale and the good looks of his patients. To quote Dr Vorobiof, “The Look Good.. Feel Better programme, although working with cosmetics, compliments the fight against cancer. Anything that can be done to uplift patients fight the disease is of value”.

Dr Linda van Zyl says she seldom sees her patients without make up after they have attended a workshop and there is a subtle change in their attitude and how they feel about themselves.” The type of programme promoted by Look Good… Feel Better derives value because it is driven by the donations and sponsorship of the cosmetic industry but the value it gives our patients they will carry for the rest of their lives,” says Dr van Zyl.

“I found the introductory workshop to be everything you promised and more. I experienced the participants’ spirits lifting virtually in front of me. I must congratulate you and your team for all your efforts.” Leigh Pollio, then Acting Head: Public Relations Groote Schuur Hospital

Sr. Gael Macbeth is enthusiastically in favour of the LG…FB programme. She says that all patients seem to hit a slump during their treatment but after they have attended a workshop they come to the clinic wearing make up and they have got back their self esteem and confidence. “ It makes a big difference to our patients lives,” says Sister Gael.

"On behalf of Garden City Clinic and all the patients that were pampered today by your ladies, I would like to thank you. The ladies were absolutely thrilled & looked stunning at the end of the day. What you ladies are doing is marvelous!!" Jo-Anne Chetty PA to Unit Manager Cecilia Botha

Lindi Louw Medical Aid Consultant Octofin, Somerset West – May 2016

With 6 weeks before my wedding and bald, I never thought I would feel like a princess on my big day, but being pampered at the Look Good...Feel Better works I realised that I could still look great! The volunteers were empathetic and their fun, bubbly personalities made the day upbeat!

Look Good...Feel Better is a wonderful opportunity for the female cancer sisterhood to thrive towards success, & through camaraderie & understanding provides a foundation for living with a life threatening disease. To 'look good' really makes you 'feel better' when you are battling a disease that challenges the very essence of your femininity. Lynette Maduri
